re:organ – LABOR FÜR NEUE ORGELKLÄNGE is a new concert series curated by Maximilian Schnaus, organist at the Evangelical Church on the Weinberg.
Music works with sounds and tones that are more or less abstract. Alongside the organ, electronic sounds are heard—partly abstract, partly very concrete: everyday sounds and noises flow into the musical action, become briefly recognizable, and then dissolve again. This interplay of recognition and disappearance is a central attraction of the evening.
Live videos are projected alongside the sounds, evolving in tandem with the music. Moving shapes—circles, rectangles, light, and colors—respond to the unfolding action and add a visual dimension to the experience, placing the auditory experience in new contexts.
Thus, not only does a soundscape take shape, but also a space of colors, figures, and forms that casts the church in a new light.
Dominik Susteck and Tobias Hagedorn approach this from an artistically oriented perspective in which improvisation, electronics, and visual processes intertwine as equal elements.
