RIAS Chamber Choir Berlin - Friday ¾ six
5:45 p.m.
Concert | Vocal music | New music
We are delighted that the RIAS Chamber Choir Berlin will once again be performing at our venue with "Freitag ¾ sechs" (Friday ¾ six). As the title suggests, the one-hour concert will take place on Friday, May 16, 2025, at "quarter to six" – i.e., 5:45 p.m. – in St. Elisabeth Church in Berlin.
With this one-hour after-work concert, the RIAS Kammerchor Berlin would like to end the week together with the audience and at the same time get everyone in the mood for the weekend. Krista Audere conducts the compact program and takes the audience on a musical journey through the Baltic States with contemporary works by Einojuhani Rautavaara, Alfred Schnittke, Arvo Pärt, and Peteris Vasks. Krista Audere, winner of the "Eric Ericson Award 2021," is originally from Latvia and will conduct the State Choir Latvija, the WDR Radio Choir Cologne, the Chamber Choir Ireland, and the Swedish Radio Choir, among others, in the 2024/2025 season.
Program:
Einojuhani Rautavaara: Missa a cappella
Alfred Schnittke: "Three Sacred Songs" for mixed choir a cappella
Arvo Pärt: And I heard a voice...
