Request for cultural projects

The Kultur Büro Elisabeth carefully compiles a wide-ranging program from a large number of project proposals that fits its profile and venues. Artistic quality is the decisive factor in the selection process. The diverse program focuses on contemporary dance and music theater productions as well as concert projects featuring early music and new music. However, there is no commitment to individual art forms, a specific genre, or repertoire. The spectrum—exhibitions, concerts, dance and music theater, performances—is as wide as that of the organizers: it ranges from renowned partners, major cultural institutions, and festivals to innovative ensembles from Berlin's independent scene and emerging artists. (see project overview and references).

Kultur Büro Elisabeth is not an event organizer with financial support; it is funded solely by income from rentals and cultural events, and all building, operating, and personnel costs must be covered by this income. However, thanks to a flexible pricing policy, Kultur Büro Elisabeth always strives to accommodate projects that are financially less well-funded but still worthy of support. The selection of events and projects is made on the basis of our mission statement.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Kultur Büro Elisabeth supports accepted projects as a cooperation partner, but does not act as the sole organizer. Please understand that we cannot respond to pure “booking requests” or program suggestions that clearly do not fit our profile and program.

Please send the following material to kultur@elisabeth.berlin:

  • Idea/project outline, preferably with illustrative material and further links
  • Contributors
  • Desired location and time frame (number of performances, set-up/take-down days)
  • Context, connection to the location (e.g., reference to its architecture, history, or use), if available
  • Financing concept, is a “venue certificate” required, and if so, by when
  • List of potential partners (e.g., integration into a festival)
  • Information on press and public relations, production management, and, if applicable, technical management
  • Special eligibility for support (e.g., promotion of young talent, disadvantaged visitor groups, underrepresented topics/content, etc.)

Once a project proposal has been accepted, Kultur Büro Elisabeth advises the organizers on further planning (especially technical implementation), arranges proven partners if necessary, and provides support with project design, press relations, and marketing (see list of PR services below). In addition, Kultur Büro Elisabeth supports the event with its own staff and services on site (beverage sales, evening service, box office, exhibition supervision, etc.).

For the cultural project to be successful, it is essential that the organizer appoints a responsible person to manage the project, who coordinates all technical and organizational planning with the Kultur Büro Elisabeth in good time (approx. six weeks before the event).

The Kultur Büro Elisabeth maintains its connections to a large number and wide range of cultural professionals and also encourages dialogue among them. New and interesting project ideas continually emerge from this network.
