The negation of the artistic abilities of female composers has a long tradition and continues to have an effect today. The evening explores the causes of this and organizes the discourses. Taking up the idea of the arguable salon, an ephemeral archive of songs of all genres and languages will be created, transcultural and cross-stylistic. Together with an actress, a pianist, four singers and a girls' choir, we interrogate song for its political, aesthetic, and social explosive power.
How can we understand the artistic work of female composers as a fundamental part of classical music and not as a gender-specific exception? The team of FUCK MARRY KILL re-examines the musical past and the artistic future.
