Kinderlieder! explores a new format for baby and children's concerts: the song performance, reinterpreted - from a young child's perspective. Lullula Music brings together established world-class musicians:and our signature curriculum for an immersive, first concert experience.
Storytelling is at the heart of both singing and a child's musical experience. In each children's song program, the pianist and singer weave a fairy tale story into their performance, drawing from the poetic and musical material at hand. These stories become a framework for understanding and accessing the many landscapes offered by the repertoire itself.
This storytelling, in turn, creates a starting point for playful and interactive pedagogical impulses drawn from Lullula's own early childhood music curriculum. The performers:inside take the audience on a journey in which they can actively participate: Children and adults alike learn, move and sing in each performance.
Program:
Schubert, Schumann, Mahler, Grieg, Brahms, Barber and Rorem, as well as German and English children's songs in original and new versions.
